So anyone playing Mystic or Defiler, do you see any benefit of calling up the Spirit Companion now that the AAs have changed?

I didn't see any point of pulling him up. True he's a sacraficial lamb ... but I usually don't have him set to protect me as he tends to make things worse if I do.

So .... how does he aid us now?

I love we do not lose the abilities once he dies (as Erieg has read on another forum they are referred to as eggs b/c they are so fragile). But what's the use of spending all that time recalling him (it takes forever! ... worse than any Wizard spell I've used ... sheeze, I think hexing is faster).

I haven't gotten to test since the update. But, i use my pet for the haste buff to the group.

My only qualm with the pet is the fact that he has to be hit or hit something to cause an effect. Ex. the ward - he has to be hit in order to ward the group. Well, in a raid he's either not going to get his or he's going to get obliterated. Elsewhere, unless you're pulling - not much chance of him getting hit.

I'm still testing things out, I just switched my mystic to the strength line a couple weeks ago and I'm not sure yet if I've seen much benefit. I was on the line where I could use the shield knock back - which I'm starting to think was more helpful than the pet.

We'll see - I'll give it a few more weeks on the str. line. I'm also not at 100aa yet with the defiler. Still need about 15 aa points. That will change things also.
